Angiogenesis is the physiological process through which new blood vessels are formed from pre-existing vessels. It occurs in various physiological processes e.g. embryonic development, menstrual cycle, exercise and wound healing etc. Angiogenesis is regulated by both endogenous activators and inhibitors.
